Cauliflower Buffalo Wings
If you’ve started to look closely at nutrition labels, you’ve probably started to realize how sneaky sugar is. We all know it’s in cookies, candy and junk food, but the sneaky thing about added sugar is that it somehow shows up in almost all packaged foods — even ones that are aiming to be salty, savory, or spicy! Adding sugar is one of the ways packaged food companies try to get you addicted to their food, because eating something with sugar sends a signal through your brain that is eerily similar to recreational drugs, leaving you with that feeling of always wanting more.
One of the surprising foods that contain sugar are sauces: most sauces, dressings, and spreads have added sugar, especially barbecue sauce. This homemade buffalo wing sauce is completely free from added sugar and uses naturally sweet tomatoes as the base. Cauliflower wings make for the perfect high fiber, plant based appetizer or side, just throw on some celery and vegan ranch dip!
